Niall Colton LL.B
Niall graduated in June 2012 with a 2:1 in Common & Civil Law with Spanish, which he studied at Queen’s University Belfast and the Universidad de Zaragoza in Spain.
He then graduated with a Commendation from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in June 2014.
He began working with Flynn & McGettrick in September 2012. He works alongside Anne Caldwell in the family law department. His main areas of interest include all aspects of domestic abuse and harassment remedies including Non Molestation Orders and Protection form Harrassment injunctions. He also is involved in Public law cases , Child contact cases and divorce.
He has a particular interest in Housing Law, especially issues in relation to Housing Association/Housing Executive tenants, homeless applications and repossessions. He has successfully defended clients in Repossession proceedings in the Chancery Court and successfully appealed negative homeless decisions made by the Housing Executive to the County Court.
He provides advice and assistance to clients when preparing Immigration applications and appeals. He has assisted in relation to the preparation of various applications including work permits, citizenship, visas, family permits and residence cards, as well as successfully appealing negative immigration decisions to the Immigration Tribunal.
Apart from the above areas he also has experience in relation to criminal matters including PACE attendance at police stations , personal injury law, Criminal Injury appeals, Benefits Tribunals and Small Claims Court work.
